It is recommended in the province of Alberta for seniors to have a comprehensive eye exam every year. Your eye exam is covered by Alberta Health. Changes of the eyes including tissue and structure typically start changing at a much quicker rate in this period and detecting these changes early is critical to ensuring you are getting the correct care in a timely manner.
Typically, you will be dilated at a second visit so that we can thoroughly see all structures unimpeded. Based on the findings, we will advise you about corrective lens options most suited to your personal needs, the treatment options, or if required, we will refer you to a specialist if further evaluation or treatment is required.
