Myopia is also known more commonly as nearsightedness/short sightedness. One who has myopia has difficulty seeing objects in the distance without the aid of glasses or contact lenses however can see nearby objects clearly. This is typically caused by an eye ball that is longer causing light rays to focus at a point in front of the retina.
